1610-20 Doublet

This garment demonstrates my skills at making men's historical costume. I was also keen to explore how I might be able to use upcycled fabrics to emulate the lavish materials original garments would have been made from at the time. This early 17th century Doublet from Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 3 was worn by a man of higher status. For fabric I used an old curtain, for the facing I used a purple silk and for decoration I chose a light gold colour to match.
